PayFast is proud to be a sponsor of the excellent NPO initiative — which strives to advance the quantity and quality of tech startups in Cape Town — known as Silicon Cape. The 2012 event happens on Tuesday, October 23 from 17:00 to 23:00 at Trinity in Cape Town.
Silicon Cape was born in 2009 with the aim to attract and connect investors with the brightest technical talent and entrepreneurs to foster world class start-up companies. The networking event, which includes talks by venture capitalists, entrepreneurs and guest speakers from some of the world’s best tech companies, was launched in 2009 with the idea to create a “Silicon Valley” right here in the Western Cape. It has made headlines and received the endorsement of Western Cape Premier Helen Zille (the keynote 2012 speaker), prominent academic Dr Mamphela Ramphele and accomplished businesspeople such as Dr Johan Rupert and Michael Jordaan.
At PayFast we’re passionate about fostering creative tech-focused companies (we’re one too, after all!) so it is only natural for us to back the initiative.
