We’re happy to announce that you can now process and purchase mimoney with PayFast. mimoney is a mobile payment method, supported by Standard Bank, which enables you to make online transactions without the need for a debit/credit card or even a bank account.
mimoney has partnered with over 20 big stores (including TAKEALOT, Look & Listen, Incredible Connection and Mr Delivery) which all currently accept the currency. In addition to these, online shoppers can now use this digital currency at the thousands (and counting) of PayFast merchants.
How does it work?
It’s pretty simple. Buyers purchase a pre-loaded mimoney voucher – which they can buy online with Payfast’s Instant EFT, with Standard Bank’s AutoPay or at self-service terminals at Ster-Kinekor cinemas and selected retailers. When buyers make a purchase, they type in their 18 digit voucher number and their mobile phone number. Once the voucher is redeemed, they get a change voucher (if there is any change due) with a new code that they can use for a future transaction.
