At PayFast we kicked off the new year in support of three PayFast registered causes that invest their time and resources into making South Africa a better place. These were Rhino Rescue Project, Helpende Hande and U-turn.
Each Cause received a donation of R15,000 from PayFast as an appreciation for the incredible work they do and to help bring them a step closer to achieving their goals in 2019.
We wish them and all the other PayFast Causes a great year ahead and look forward to seeing them drive positive change among our communities.
Rhino Rescue Project
Their mission is to offer a sustainable, cost effective defensive strategy to protect rhinos in South Africa and elsewhere from poaching. The programme is focused on the devaluation of rhino horns as commodities by infusing them with an animal-friendly toxin and indelible dye as well as added security measures like microchips, tracking technology and DNA sampling and storage.
Helpende Hande
Helping Hand has a variety of projects aimed at relieving the suffering of needy people. These projects include the Lunchbox, Schoolbag and #HelpHanna project. Children are especially helped by these projects, providing them with a daily plate of food, stationery and sanitary ware.
U-turn
U-turn have crafted an innovative and sustainable pathway out of homelessness. Their phased programme moves from basic needs relief to Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Support, and culminates in sheltered work-based rehabilitation that nurtures an individual’s resilience through vocational skills, work experience, occupational therapy, and the development dignity.
