2020 is not only a new year, but the start of a new decade, which is a pretty big deal. At PayFast we are dedicated to meeting all of our new year’s resolutions and are genuinely excited about what we have in store for you.
One of our first big announcements of the year is the launch of our newly designed and developed website. The website has all of the functionality and product information that you have come to know and trust, but now with an improved mobile-first design, navigation and overall user experience.
Developing enhanced user experiences
The main motivator behind our website’s revamp is to cater for the increasing number of individuals who are accessing our website, merchant dashboard and payment engine with their mobile phone. In 2015, just over 20% of our users accessed our platforms via a mobile device. Five years later, this percentage jumped to more than 42%. It’s only a matter of time before the majority of our users access a PayFast platform from their mobile phone.
For this reason, we’re focusing on optimising our mobile experiences even further in 2020; the launch of our new marketing website and online registration form is just the beginning. Our in-house UX team looks forward to ensuring that our new website and all of our other merchant-facing interfaces going forward will offer an intuitive and delightful user experience.
Solutions and features for any business
As part of our new solutions-driven approach, our new Solutions tab introduces how PayFast can cater to your specific business needs. For example, if you run an ecommerce store or an event ticketing platform, you can find out how we can enable you to get paid online. We also have new sections describing how we can help streamline your business’ invoicing automation process, or help your registered charity to accept online donations.
Over the years, PayFast has developed a number of new features that our merchants can integrate into their platforms at no additional cost. These free-to-use features have helped South African businesses keep abreast with the latest online payment trends, and have also enabled the launch of innovative business models. These features can now be found under the Features tab, for easy access to all the free ‘extras’ that can be enabled on your account, such as Subscriptions, Tokenization and Split Payments.
It’s now even easier to connect with us
Our revamped contact page makes it easier than ever to get in touch with our friendly support team. We’ve also added more prominent social media buttons for our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn pages so that you can find us on your favourite social media channel with a click of a button.
Since PayFast launched in 2007, we’ve seen massive growth and have done a lot to ensure that our merchants and their customers receive the most out of using our online payment service. Our new website makeover is just the start of our 2020 journey, and we look forward to sharing other exciting news with you soon.
