Get started with Google Adwords

Google Adwords

In a single punch, Google sums up their Adwords digital advertising with the following ad they placed in a newspaper:

Google Adwords Newspaper Ad Globe & Mail

This was actually a witty little publicity stunt by them, since they were showing that traditional print media isn’t the best way to advertise (the irony of actually using traditional media to do so isn’t lost on us). Print isn’t necessarily something we think you should overlook, but that depends on your industry and location. What we do think, or rather what we know, is that ads on Google work. If someone is looking for a new pair of running shoes, a supermarket or a haircut, odds are pretty high that they’ll search for it using Google.

Whether you are selling goods or services or have any type of business, big or small, there is a really significant chance that your customers are already searching for what you’re offering. Are your customers finding you?

Introducing the PayFast Dashboard

We received great feedback about our redesigned site, which went online at the start of the month. It has all the familiar functions that sellers had access to before, but the new layout makes getting (and using) some of these tools a little easier. The PayFast Dashboard (image below) will appear for those with accounts that can accept payments, those who can only make payments can always upgrade their accounts once logged in.

PayFast on Jigoshop

Jigoshop is another easy-to-use eCommerce solution that allows you to sell from the familiar WordPress platform. With Jigoshop you can quickly and easily set up your online shop, customise it with themes and install the newly developed PayFast extension to accept payments from South African shoppers.

100,000 Registered PayFast Users!

We’re all pretty excited about 2012 here at PayFast – and the year has only just begun! This week we reached a pretty significant company milestone: we are happy to say that we now have more than 100,000 successful PayFast registrations!

Considering we’ve only been in operation for less than 5 years and that online shopping is yet to really take off in South Africa, we think this is really a great accomplishment. We even made a little graph, above, to show how things are taking off.
