As part of our strategy to continue to seek new opportunities for our gateway offering, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with RCS Group, South Africa’s leading consumer finance provider to offer store cards as a new payment method. This means you can now accept a range of store cards, including RCS, Game, Cape Union Mart, Makro, Builders, CTM and more on your online store.
RCS offers a number of store cards, allowing their customers to make purchases using affordable and flexible payment terms. With PayFast, many of these customers can now purchase using their store card for online purchases on your site, giving your online business access to additional purchasers. You get paid instantly and in full, while RCS handles the instalments directly with the shopper.
How do store card payments work through the RCS network?
It’s as easy for customers to pay online using any of the accepted store cards powered by RCS as it would be to pay via credit or debit card. When the customer checks out, they simply select the Store Card option on the PayFast payment page, enter their store card number and confirm the payment with a one time pin (OTP).
How can you offer store cards as a payment method?
The best thing about our new store cards payment launch is that if you’re already using PayFast as your payment gateway you don’t need to do anything to enable store cards as a payment method. We’ve automatically enabled it for you. If you would like to manage your payment methods, simply log in to your PayFast account.*

*Store cards have only been automatically enabled for online stores that have cards enabled. Certain industries are not able to accept store card payments, if you weren’t automatically enabled but would like to accept store cards, please contact Customer Services.
